Luis De Souza Pinto '02 Memorial Scholarship Endowment for the Men's Rugby Football Club at James Madison University

An endowed scholarship established by Brian T. Rainey ’04, as a Donor and on behalf of the alumni members of the Men’s Rugby Football Club, and the friends & family of Luis De Souza Pinto ’02 who also have made philanthropic gifts to create a scholarship endowment in memory of Luis De Souza Pinto ’02.

The criteria of the scholarship:

Restrictions:
• Current students who are members of the Men’s Rugby Club, prospective students who intend to be members of the Men’s Rugby Club, and students who provide auxiliary support to the Men’s Rugby Club such as team managers, recordkeepers, sports medicine staff, EMT’s, etc.
• Candidates must demonstrate exemplary leadership. A short essay is required to describe those leadership qualities and to discuss the impact of leadership both on and off the field.

Administration
• Current recipients are eligible to receive the scholarship in subsequent years but must submit the essay each year.

The guardian of this account will be the Director of University Recreation. Recipients will be selected at the discretion of the guardian, in consultation with the Men’s Rugby Club Coach, following the University’s guidelines for awarding scholarships.
