David Joseph '78 & Judy Settle '77 Naquin Family Scholarship Endowment

An endowed scholarship established with a gift by David Joseph ’78 & Judy Settle ’77 Naquin to support a scholarship for an outstanding freshman student scholar. In accordance with the Bluestone Scholars program, which is administered by the Office of Admissions, the student selected to receive the Naquin Family Scholarship shall demonstrate meritorious achievement in each of the following areas: Volunteerism; Academic achievement; and, Participation in the student’s high school community. The recipient must be a United States citizen.

The Donors direct that in the event additional charitable gifts are made over time towards this scholarship endowment, then the scholarship shall expand its scope so that a student receiving the Naquin Family Scholarship as a freshman may continue to receive this scholarship in the second and subsequent years of study – for a maximum of four years beyond freshman year. Further, if the scholarship endowment grows to a size sufficient to support more than one student at a time, then the available resources should be used to do; provided, however, that, in no case may an individual scholarship award be for less than $1,000.

The Donors further direct that the Office of Admissions shall have discretion to fulfill the above directive in a manner appropriate under the circumstances as the scholarship endowment grows over time.
