H. Guthrie Allen, Jr. Scholarship Endowment

An endowed scholarship established by Mrs. Marguerite “Peggy” Allen on behalf of the friends and colleagues of H. Guthrie Allen, Jr, a special person and an outstanding individual because of his amazing positive attitude, dedication to facing each day and making the best of every opportunity despite physical challenges. This scholarship will provide financial resources annually to a junior, senior, or graduate student with a disability documented with the Office of Disability Services, with a preference given to:

•A student majoring in the College of Business, with a secondary preference given to a student majoring in the College of Education
•Students who demonstrate a need for financial assistance, as determined by the university’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships

Before being named an Allen Scholar, applicants will provide information regarding how they have faced or are currently facing their disability. It is preferred the scholarship be awarded to a new student each year, but if one is not available a former Allen scholar may be awarded the scholarship.
