Bill ('89), Wendy Harrod, and Patricia S. ('78) Luth

Bill (‘89), Wendy Harrod, and Patricia S. (’78) Luth established this gift in 2021. Bill is a graduate from the College of Arts and Letters and received his BA in History. He and his wife, Wendy, created this gift with his mother, Patricia. Patricia graduated from JMU with her MED in Special Education. This scholarship is named after both Patricia and her late husband, Dr. Frank Luth. Dr. Frank spent over thirty years at JMU teaching in the College of Education. He served as both the Department Head of Special Education and Acting Dean of the College of Education during his tenure. He also lobbied for the funding of the College of integrated Science and Technology. His passion for JMU and his students inspired his family to create this scholarship for students who are single parents and also parents of children who are in need of financial assistance.
