Donovan Family Scholarship for Academic and Leadership Excellence in the College of Business

An endowed scholarship established by John and Mary Donovan. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be an incoming freshman who demonstrates an intention to pursue a major in the College of Business. Once a student is named a Donovan Scholar, this scholarship may be renewed for up to three consecutive years if the recipient remains a student within the College of Business and maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. If either stipulation is not met, a new recipient will be selected. Selection of recipients will be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Dean for the College of Business, based on the following criteria. Recipients must:

- Be in-state students
– Have a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and rank in the top 25% of their graduating high school class
– Demonstrate quality extracurricular experience and service in areas including, but not limited to: clubs, community service organizations and activities, or athletics
– Enroll in general Business Administration courses leading to admission to the College of Business.

Financial need is not a consideration in the selection of a Donovan Scholar.

Beyond the above criteria, the appointment of Donovan Scholars shall follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
